Philosophers' Carnival #32
The Philosophers' Carnival is back, this time hosted by Janet Stemwedel's Adventures in Ethics and Science blog. My post, Presencing and Essencing, got accepted in the "Continental Philosophy Beer Garden." Kudos to Janet for her interesting and imaginative presentation of the Carnival.

It's definitely a funny cartoon but it does misrepresent the one side. (Even though I disagree with the IDers) They don't deny most of evolution and certainly not the evolution of viruses. Rather they argue that there are kinds of evolutionary steps that couldn't happen by chance. They still think they happened and perhaps can be described as evolution. They just don't think it's by chance.
Those who argue against any kind of evolution generally are just plain ignorant. But they aren't really what the debate is about.
